HISTORY OF DIALOGOS

Founded in 2000, Dialogos is a thematic journal, comprising two series which cover a vast area of interest in social sciences and humanities: "Literature and Intercultural Communication"  and "Language Sciences and Language Teaching". Since 2016, one issue will be published each year reuniting the two domains.

Dialogos is published both on paper and on line. All the paper copies are available at ASE Library, Library of Congress, Washington DC, USA, as well as in the libraries of the following Romanian universities: Valahia Tîrgovişte, Lucian Blaga Sibiu, Petroşani, Politehnica Timişoara, Ştefan cel Mare Suceava and the Technical University Gh. Asachi Iaşi.

AIM AND SCOPE

Dialogos is an open access journal inviting literary and intercultural communication studies, articles on theoretical and applied linguistics, as well as contributions on modern language teaching.

 

Dialogos is open to all those interested in scientific research in the above fields, namely, experienced researchers, academics, doctor’s and master’s students preparing their thesis.

 

 Dialogos aims to publish original and innovative articles so as to contribute to the progress of research, establish a framework for dialogue and scientific debates and a fruitful confrontation of ideas.

 

Dialogos is open to all researchers in Romanian and foreign universities interested in disseminating the original results of their work. To this end, Dialogos accepts articles in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Romanian.

 

All articles can be accessed free of charge by all readers who wish to know and quote them, or to include them in their references. Also, Dialogos does not charge any publications fees.

 

PUBLISHING ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Dialogos is committed to the highest international standards of editorial ethics and takes all necessary steps against malpraxis. We apply the editorial ethics principles included in COPE standards.

 

The editorial board of Dialogos is accountable for the articles published, permanently seeks to improve the qulity of such articles and pays special attention to intellectual property rights, including plagiarism and copyright.

 

 

The publishers and editors of Dialogos shall take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. In no case shall the journal or its editors encourage such misconduct, or knowingly allow such misconduct to take place.

 

In order to prevent such events, the editors have taken several steps. Before submitting his article, the author must sign an acceptance of responsibility stating that the authorship of the article in the form in which it is submitted belongs only to him, that the article has not previously been published in any other publication and that all sources are properly quoted and included in the bibliography. This acceptance of responsibility can be found on the page « Editorial policy » of the site of Dialogos.

 

All articles are reviewed by two peer reviewers who are in no competing interests with the author. The editor in chief selects the peer reviewers according to their competence in the article field and in the language it is written in, as well as according to their independence towards the author. Peer reviewers are entitled to refuse to review the article if they believe they are not competent in the field or if they realize who the author is and are in a competing interest with him. The peer reviewers receive a copy of the article from which the name of the author has been deleted (blind double review). They fill in the peer review form which can be found on the page « Editorial policy » of the site of Dialogos with their objective appreciations on the quality of the article, also signaling, if such be the case, any infringement of publishing ethics.

Peer-reviewers must return the duly filled in review form in six to eight weeks starting from the moment when they have received it.

Peer reviewers do not share with their colleagues the information included in the article or their remarks on the article. Peer reviewers are not paid for article reviewing.

The name of the peer reviewers is deleted from the peer review form and then, the form is sent to the author to make the necessary corrections. All the articles rejected by the peer reviewers because of their poor quality or for ethics breach are rejected by the editorial board who informs the author accordingly.If peer-reviewers state that the article can be published without any modification, the author is also informed accordingly.

 

Before publication, all articles are submitted to the anti-plagiarism software of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. The results thereof are sent to the author who must make the necessary corrections and return the article which will them undergo another anti-plagiarism test. Articles revealed as plagiarism are not published.

 

If, after the online publication of an article, the author or any other person notices errors in the article, the editorial board is informed immediately. The editors correct the errors immediately and inform the publisher to also correct them in the paper publication which occurs after the online publication.

Should any such error be discovered too late or a research allegation be made after the publication of the article online and on paper, the editorial board will examine the complaint, inform the author and publish a notice of retraction in the next issue of the journal. Such complaints can be made to the contact address of the journal
